Meet The Artist

I live in the country. Well, I live in a forest on the edge of the Cotswolds, UK. You can't get more country than that. Wildlife is my life. Animals have been a passion for me all my days.

I love their silly behaviour. The quirks only you know. Sometimes I wish they'd live as long as me. It's been the saddest thing to say goodbye.

My name's Jamie. I'm an artist and writer living off-grid. I've had all sorts of pets. A proper mini zoo at one point. We used to care for creatures that got hit by cars too. I once nursed a pigeon and an owl.

From reptiles to insects, dogs to rodents. Fish and crustaceans. And, of course, cats.

I loved them all. Still do. Even if they're not here anymore. I remember the times they came to me with nothing but love when I was down. Animals are like that. They always know.

My first two pets are the ones at the top of this website. Henry, an English bull, and Sandy, a tabby. Both rescue animals. Both lovely.

It broke my heart watching them go. Always does. We live longer. That's one of the reasons I started drawing them. A hand-made picture brings the photos and videos on your phone to life.

It lasts longer. You feel the animal more. It's like they're still with you. Portraits capture something the digital world can't. It's the heart and soul of the animal that I cherish in these unique artworks.

I started drawing very young. Then went on to study in college and uni. Art is more than a status symbol. It connects us to love. It bridges the gap between where we are now, and those who may not be here anymore.

To top it off, I'm also building a wildlife sanctuary in the woodland. I will donate 10% of every portrait sale to supporting British wildlife. Creating habitat, sourcing extra food, tools, and potential help all come from my art.
